Tumescent Liposuction
For many people, all the diet and exercise in the world will not get rid of one or two stubborn pockets of fat that tend to develop around certain areas of the body, including the chin, neck, arms, stomach, hips, buttocks, legs, or even ankles. In these cases, Dr. Krugman often performs tumescent liposuction procedures that target problem areas and leave the body more sculpted and toned.
Dr. Krugman performs only tumescent liposuction on his patients and utilizes small sized cannulas (suction tubes) or even smaller syringes for more precise fat extraction and minimal bruising and swelling. During the procedure, Dr. Krugman flushes the fatty area with fluid that loosens and helps dissolve fatty tissue before removing it with the cannula or syringe. This also helps minimize inflammation after the procedure.
Tumescent liposuction is performed on an outpatient basis under general anesthesia. After a few days' recovery time, the patient should notice a firmer, tighter physique.

Abdominoplasty - "Tummy Tuck"
While regular abdominal exercise is the best way to maintain a firm and healthy center core of the body, sometimes it is nearly impossible to lose excess fat and skin around the midsection. This is often the case with women who have undergone several pregnancies or women and men who have lost significant amounts of weight. In these situations, abdominoplasty, commonly known as a tummy tuck,, is often the only way to tighten up the abdominal region.
Abdominoplasty is a cosmetic surgery procedure designed to give you a sleeker, more defined abdominal region; however, the patient must be willing to accept a low scar that is usually easily covered by a modest bikini.
Dr. Krugman performs a standard abdominoplasty procedure. He makes an incision from one hip to the other to create a skin flap in order to separate the skin from the abdominal muscles. He then tightens the abdominal muscles to narrow the waistline and flatten the midsection. After folding the skin down and trimming excess skin, Dr. Krugman stitches up the incision.
The entire procedure takes from two to four hours, depending upon whether it is a mini- or full abdominoplasty. Some bruising and swelling is normal, and should subside within about ten days.
